Excellent Compost Analysis Results in Podgorica and Danilovgrad (Zero Waste Montenegro)
The compost analysis from the community compost site at @urbanabastapodgorica and a backyard compost site of a household in Danilovgrad has shown excellent results.
Both samples meet strict quality criteria, with minimal impurities and optimal concentrations of heavy metals. Notably, the high organic matter content stands out—57% in the community compost sample—confirming the efficiency of proper composting and the importance of collective initiatives in organic waste management.
Both composting sites utilized microorganisms from the Japanese EM technology, which further improved compost quality. We observed that, with the Bokashi method, organic waste decomposed faster, producing fewer unpleasant odors while preserving beneficial microorganisms that enrich the soil.
Through proper composting, we not only reduce waste but also obtain high-quality humus, which improves soil fertility and contributes to a healthier ecosystem.
